Hey guys! I'm Hannah!
I've lived in North Carolina my whole life, near Raleigh. I am 20 years old, and I'm a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I'm studying child development with a minor in public health. I work at the child care center on our campus, so I basically get paid to play with sweet babies all day! I absolutely love it!
I love spending time with my friends, sleeping (typical college student answer), playing guitar, and being outside. I LOVE stargazing, all kinds of music, and going to the beach. I was on a summer swim team for 11 years, but didn't play many sports. I was a band kid in middle school and high school :) I played piano, alto saxophone, and bass clarinet. I did marching band in high school, and I still miss it more than anything else from those four years, because it was a really key part of my life.
Last summer I spent two weeks in Kenya with an organization called The Mocha Club. It was the best 2 weeks of my life. Being my first time out the country, I was definitely out of my comfort zone, but God came through and showed up in ways I never imagined. Africa has a special place in my heart, but for some reason this trip to Guatemala stuck out to me. I'm excited to see another part of the world and experience God's Kingdom in new ways!
Things I'm nervous about: raising money (I don't have much support from my family on this one), remembering how to speak Spanish (I took some in high school, but that was 2 years ago!), and just every aspect of the "unknown" in the months ahead. It's been a difficult battle with my parents/family already - and I'm really stepping out in faith on my own to go where I feel God leading me!
I'm really excited to see the Lord come through in crazy ways, and to meet you all!! I'm excited to be challenged and to hear from God in new ways.
