Hello! My name is Samantha, but mostly everyone calls me Sam. :) I'm from a small town in Illinois called Waterloo. I go to college at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO and I love it! I'm studying speech therapy, and I graduate this May. In the fall I'm going to grad school for speech therapy, but I'm not sure where I'm going yet! I don't have a job during the school year except babysitting randomly. But during the summers I work at a day care. I hate to say it, but I mostly just mooch money off my parents. Haha. In my free time at school, I like to spend time with friends. I'm in a Christian sorority, so I hang out with those girls a lot. I love talking about anything and everything, watching movies, doing zumba, cooking, reading, and traveling. My favorite place in the world is the beach! I could spend every single day of my life there which is very sad when you live in Illinois! :) One day I want to learn how to surf! I love any kind of dancing and took dance classes most of my life until college. I also love to spend time with my family when I'm home. We love doing outdoor things like hiking, boating, swimming, and going on float trips. I'm definitely an outdoors girl. I don't think I could go a whole day without going outside! I like doing a lot of things, and I'm always up for adventure! Oh and I love almost any kind of food! Watermelon and sushi are my favorites, but not together! :)  I've never been on a mission trip before, so this is a completely new experience for me. Although I have volunteered for a week at a camp for people with special needs called Camp Barnabas. It was one of the best weeks of my life, along with Passion 2012! So I'm nervous about going on my first mission trip, but I know God will prepare all of us. I'm excited to use my Spanish skills on this trip. I'm also so excited to meet all of you and become friends! I know we will have a great time getting to know each other and doing God's work side by side! :) Most of all, I'm excited to be a light to the Guatemalans and let the Lord use me in whatever way He wants. I'm excited to learn to trust Him with everything! My biggest fear is getting sick, but I know God will take care of us all. I'm a little nervous about this summer, but mostly just excited to see what God is going to do with it! I am praying for the people we will come in contact with and our team too! I'm ready for June 1st! :)
